Vediamo insieme come questo mazzo ben modificato per il metagame ha potuto avere la meglio su tutti con uno score di 6 vittorie e 1 pareggio! Anche questo mese 80 partecipanti pronti al via a Dülmen, alcuni top players tedeschi assenti ma notiamo anche la presenza di Carl Devos dal Belgio, fresco del suo secondo posto conquistato a Venezia con una versione simpatica (e forte!) del mask.
Non mi voglio dilungare troppo e trasformare un articolo su un mazzo nel report di un torneo, quindi vi propongo subito la deck list del mazzo vincitore:
Allora notiamo subito delle differenze col mazzo GAT classico:
1) lo splash di rosso: come gia commentato dall'autore del mazzo, l'aggiunta delle blast nel side danno una marcia in più nei mirror match e contro il keeper.
Il Fire/ice anche utilissimo nei mirror match e comunque contro ogni mazzo, consente di tappare un Labirinto di Ith, spara a 2 welder e ha cauntrip (pesca una carta).
Il Flametongue kavu è utile contro i mazzi aggro, ad esempio 4 danni su un Su-chi o su un Negator sono difficili da digerire per l'avversario.
2) l'assenza di Cunning Wish e di conseguenza del Berserk : questa scelta apparentemente senza senso è stata a lungo ponderata. Si può in effetti fare a meno del Berserk se si sa in precedenza che non si incontranno molti mazzi con tante creature a bloccare. In questo modo si guadagna spazio per carte come Fact or Fiction e Fire/Ice che evitano la perdita del vantaggio di carte.
Il mazzo ha perso un po' di flessibilità ma ha sempre la possiblità di pescaggio.
3) Mana Drain e niente Daze: i mana drain permettono al mazzo di giocare più magie dispendiose (anche in vista dei kavu) e i daze sono stati finalmente esclusi.
Dando un commento finale al mazzo potrei dire che è stato fatto un ottimo lavoro per migliorare il matchup contro i mazzi più famosi: il mononero scartacarte e monorosso spari (Ice/fire); GAT e Keeper (Red Elemental Blast); aggro vari (Flametongue kavu, Fire/Ice).
Nessuna sorpresa che abbia vinto!
